Hello Bea - I trained as an OT and spent some time doing practicals with Ray Ann. I also assisted on the Kwela Camp with her. She is lovely - and more importantly, the children love her.

Hi Bea

I was also referred to Sanet Schoeman, but she is an educational psychologist and will only really do an assessment on your child to determine at what level her skills currently are, compared to where they should be. She is however booked months ahead and I ended up going to her partner Carey-Lee Vermoter who was absolutely lovely and did a great evaluation of my son.

She then referred us to Nicolet Bedeker <nbedeker@gmail.com> for occupational therapy. She is based in Durbanville, close to Wellington Street. We have been to her for a few sessions and I can recommend her with all my heart! She really has the most wonderful personality and my son instantly liked her and responded very well to her treatment.

If you do contact her, please tell her I referred you. :)

Can anyone recommend a good occupational therapist in the Durbanville / Bellville area?

My three year old struggles with her fine motor skills - drawing and cutting with scissors - and keeps on switching between her left and right hand. Her teacher has now recommended that we take her for OT as she has actually deteriorated.

I'm getting a few recommendations - S anet Schoeman, but she is more of an educational psychologist. Then there is also Dedre van W yngaardt who seems nice.
