I need some advice please. My LB is just over 10.5 months and not yet crawling. He just doesn't seem to "get it".
I have literally tried everything to get him to want to crawl, and even though he does get into the "crawling position" more often now, he still just doesn't seem to want to or know what to once he is in this position.
I have also done plenty of tummy time which also didnt seem to work much, right now when he is on his tummy he does one of two things, he either rolls over and sits, or he just uses his hands to push himself backwards while not really doing anything with his legs - its like he doesnt know that his legs are there and he should do something with them.
I also do not put any toys in his reach making him have to reach or crawl to the toys, but he just doesnt, he eventually gets to the toy by leaning forward, slipping and landing on his tummy and being close enough to the toy then to grab it and sit and play with it or he just plays with his toes or hands instead of the toy (almost like - OK mommy you dont want to give me a toy, fine I will play with my toes!).
He is find about sitting and turning on his bum when he is sitting and sometimes he will spend a little more time on his tummy but he realy really just doesnt seem to get it.
Now I have heard that if your baby reaches 11 months and is not crawling yet, you should take them to an occupational therapist, is this true? And has anybody done this? And what was the result.
I am just looking for some advise to see if there is something I have not done, but the general things (tummy time, towl or something similar under the hips while on tummy, toys out of reach and all that) I have all done, if anybody has any further advise (or info on an OC and results) I would really appreciate it
