Hi Stella,

Thanks, yup, I also married an engineer and I know exactly what you mean - everything is researched and checked out. I must say, I've come to rely on that a lot!

Thanks for the suggestion, we'll go and check it out this weekend!

hallo there,

i cant really compare or say which work better, but we have the Joie Stages car seat from Baby City.

its a very sturdy seat. hubby is a engineer and always check out how things are built and what materials are used (frustrating as baby products are mostly plastic and he hates plastic) and approves of this one (we looked at about 100 others that he said was just to flimsy and he doesn't think they are safe)

it is also one of a few bigger seats that can still be rear facing.

we've been using the big seat since he was 5 months old as he outgrew the snug-n-safe one very fast - he was a very big baby.
i will also keep him rear facing till his legs starts to really squash, but now at 11 months there are still loads of space.

its a very nice chair and i can really recommend it

as for entertaining, he doesn't mind just sitting, but he usually chats up a storm in the car, and we sing songs together. if i give him toys, he just throws it away. but mostly he falls asleep in the car, so that is a big help

me 35, DH 39

Hi Moomies,

Our LG is 10Kg (ish) and almost 14 months old and is growing out of her Stage 1 rear-facing carseat. I really want to invest in something that is the safest, longest-lasting and most cost effective. If I can't get all 3, I'll settle for safest at the best price (My husband will be proud of me taking the price into consideration)..

My questions are:
1. I can only find reviews for European and US-made car seats on the net. I cannot for example find a safety review for Chelino anywhere. Does anyone know if and where I can find any?
2. Is it better go get a 9Kg - 36Kg carseat now or are the 9KG - 25Kg better?
3. I'd like to keep my LG rear-facing for a little while longer (another 6 months at least) - did anyone else do that and how was the experience? What did you do to keep them entertained facing backward?

From your experiences, what would be the best going forward?

Please help as I've exhausted google :-)
