We had my LG eyes pierced at a year and half, hardest part was getting her to sit still to mark the dot for the piercing, but she didn't even cry when the jeweller pierced her ears cause it was over so quick.
I had bought surgical spirits before taking her to get it done, and kept applying it 3 times a day for the first week, left the surgical earrings on for about a month, before putting on the diamond earrings her grand parents had bought her for her first birthday. I even carried nurofen with me in case she was in pain or cried, but she was perfectly fine after the piercing, the surgical spirits really helped.
Her ears healed perfectly fine and now she is 4 and still using the diamond earrings and loves it. she has received two more set's if diamond earrings over the years but she prefers the one she has on, so I just leave her with it.
Celeste I think if you get your daughters ears done, make sure the family know you want to do it not them, it has to be your experience cause others especially family had their chance and always have opinions about the age and timing, it has to be something you experience with your child. The after care is important to stop the ear hole from closing.
All the best with your decision
