Hi julzdylan

I share your fear:O)

Did you take him to the Paediatric Dentist and Milnerton MC?

Planning to take our daughter soon.

Blessed and honoured to be a mom to an almost 4 year old. Biggest, best surprise ever!

Glad it went well Julz, now you can see why find it so easy to toddle down there every 6 months and the kids view it as a fun outing.

He really is a good dentist, and great with kids.

Thanks for the reminder of good tips.

Hayley, Brandon sucked is dummy way into his second year and yes his teeth were at a distinct angle, but now at almost 4 they have straightened out on their own.

My personal feeling is 1. why should I take away something that obviously soothes him, before he is ready to let it go. I would much rather deal with teeth & braces than an emotional insecurity later on in his life.
And 2. thumb sucking does way more damage to the teeth than a dummy and is impossible to take away, whereas with preparation you can get your child to throw away his dummy and never need it again.

Thanks for sharing Julz :) Im glad all went well!

I was actually worried about a small spot on my sons front toothie.. it actually came out with the spot so I have no idea where it comes from? It looks like a small hole. I had an appointment at the dentist but really didnt feel up to the drama of it.. my son absolutely hates it when ppl poke around in his face and mouth :( I think Ill just leave him a few more months or if it gets bigger.. :)

Hayley dylan only sleeps with his and yes the thumb sucking may last longer and be just as bad so i am not stressing for now. Most kids need braces anyway.

My 2 yr old has still not gone for his first denist visit. I actually had one booked a few weeks back but on the day my son was unwell so had to cancel. I see your denist advised to loose the dummy and that is something that my db is so concerned about with our son. He sucks his dummy quite often and with the exception of school he has it with him all the time. Does not aways suck it but has to have it close by. My db is concerned the dummy is causing Ryan's teeth to be scew. They seem fine at the moment. But concerned about overbite etc... My cousin took her childs dummy away and she started sucking her finger instead and the denist said that she has huge dental problems because she sucked her finger. Is the dummy not suppose to be better??? Would be interested to know if anyone has any knowledge on this one.

Mommy to Ryan almost 3years old and Ben almost 5 months old
