Snoring 20 month old

Angie, my 2 year old snored like a demon and breathed with his mouth open - we eventually had his adenoids out in May and it is so wonderful to hear him sleep quietly (we are still working on keeping that mouth closed for breathing). They did the x-ray and that's when we realised just how badly blocked his air passages were!

Hi MH-mom thanks for your reply. I did speak to the ENT today and he said it might be that CJ's tonsils are still a bit swolen (he does not have a bad breath at all). It could also be due to slightly blocked nose, or allergies. He gave me a prescription for nose spray that I must administer every night at 6 and do that for a week - if the snoring has not improved we will make an appointment to see him. They apparently take a X-ray of the nasopharynx to see if the adenoids / tonsils are enlarged. And whatever the outcome is, take it from there.
So, going to get the nose spray today and see how it goes!!

Mia snores when she has tonsilitis. Her paed says that a child should not snore at all!!!

She had kissing tonsils in April and was booked into hospital because they closed off her airway If she gets it again this winter they will take them out. In a way I hope they do take them out, not because I want her to be sore, but just because it will be so much better for her in the long run (spoken from a mommy who only had her own tonsils removed later on and suffered!!!)

Hear what your paed says, maybe your son hasn't recovered fully from the tonsilitis?! It's best to get the ENT's opinion on this matter!!!

Does your son have smelly breath (also an indication of tonsilitis)?

My 20 month old LB had very bad bronchitis and tonsilitis in May. Since then he started snoring quite badly when he sleeps. It does not matter which position he sleeps in, but it is worse when he sleeps on his back. Since May he has had a blocked nose some days, but nothing serious.
I looked into his throat this weekend and its red and swolen and what to me looks like swolen adenoids???
I read on the web that some children do have enlarged adenoids which causes snoring as the adenoids actually touch each other while breathing (kissing adenoids) - but I don't think this is CJ's problem as he only started snoring a month ago just after he got sick?

Any advise please?! Do you guys think I should be worried?
I do work with a ENT and will be seeing him today so I am going to ask him what he thinks, but I would also like to hear the moomies advise and if anyone has experienced the same thing?
