Luckily we dont have to cater for neighbours. Normally if I make normal food then there is no savouries.

We break fast with a date and some water, pray for Magrib and then eat normal food.

I also notice a lot of people (not onli in SA but in Mauritius as well) that goes way overboard with food

I haven't done a thing :( Probably going to wait for the last minute again!

I decided to make samoosas this year to cut cost :P ...anyone know what kind/make/name of pastry I can buy to make pies?

I know this is an odd question but has anyone got a delicious daltjie recipe...I use the mix that you buy but what do you add to the mix?

I say veggie soup to keep you away from all the greasy stuff...try just a bowl of porridge and fruit in the am.

I find people take this as a month to eat elaborate when we actually suppose to do the opposite...Im going to try to keep it simple. So its soup with samoosas/pies/daltjies for supper and if I make a pot of food then no samoosa/pies/daltjies. Will this work though I still have the neighbours coming around ....

LOL Springroll Delicacies is also where I do my preps...
