please help: passport for toddler??

Only one parent has to take lo and it is quite okay. It took about 3 weeks so we were really impressed. We just took birth certificate and Neil's id book as well as photos. You can save time by going online to print the forms. Fill them in at home. Neil did the initial application and I collected the passport. I am seriously impressed with home affairs at the moment.

I applied for a passport for Joel last year with no problems at all. We needed it for the boat cruise we went on in December. You will need to get the application form from HA, accompanied by your childs birth certificate and a copy of it too, your id and husbands id as well as copies thereof. And of course the photos. Both my husband and I went to do the application form (on a saturday) as we were not sure if they needed both there or not. Also afterward we were able to track the application via sms. Very nice and within 4 weeks we received the passport.

Kayla needed a passport for an ad she did, so I went through one of those company's normally situated next to home affairs. You can also just go to home affairs yourself. You can go alone with the pics. You will need you LO's birth certificate. They don't take fingerprints for kids. You can get a temporary passport in less than a week and a permanent one in about 6 - 8 weeks which will be valid for 5 years.

I need to get a passport for my LO (14 months).
Has anyone done it recently? How does it work?
Do both parents need to be there at home affairs? I've got photo's so far...what a mission to get a 14 month old to sit still facing to the front!!
Any help would be appreciated thanks!!
By the way, how long does it take more or a less?
