file When to test

Deja a chemical pregnacny is where the pregnancy doesn't continue past 4 weeks. If you test early you may get a false positive. In other words the pregnancy hormones are still present in the urine even though the pregnancy has infact ended. This causes so much heart ache for the woman so this is why it is best to test 14 days post ovulation.

I got a bfp on day 12, but only tested because it was my birthday and I felt so nauseous, but still wanted to have a glass of wine. I had morning sickness from 4 weeks onwards. Nausea at 8 days post ovulation is very soon.

I tested and got a very feint BFP on 9dpo
But - i was charting so I knew when I ovulated and I knew I had timed BD well on a weekend away.

The line was so feint I probably bought 10 more tests during the course of 3 or 4 days.

Remember that early testing also means a chance of a chemical that you'd get to know about, whereas if you leave it till AF is late, there's less chance of you finding that out. But if you're anything like me you'd test anyways :)

I would also wait to test untill 14DPO. But it is not unheard of to get a positiove as early as 9DPO, but if you do test that early then it might also be a false negative, so best to wait abit longer.

Good luck and let us know what happens!

Deja - DPO means days past ovulation. It is debateable as to how many dpo you might get a bfp (i got mine at 8dpo - but that is not the norm). As your LP (the days between ovulation and menstruation) is normally 14 days - it is best to test 14 dpo.

I would think (from your symptoms) that you did infact ovulate round day 16/17.

With regard to the nausea - each person is different, but i did not feel any nauseau up to the 6th week of my pregnancy. So it might be the hormones kicking in - or it might be something else...

So i would suggest you wait until 14dpo and then test - just to be sure!

Ok, firstly, what does DPO means?

I MIGHT be pregnant. I have been feeling naar for the past three days but could be the antibiotics I am on. Anyway, the reason I think I might be pregnant is because we BD'ed on exactly the same day in my cycle than we did when I fell pregnant with my LG. I have no idea how long my cycle is at the moment, because I only stopped breastfeeding my LG at 14 months. So have only had two cycles since. The first one was 30 odd days and the second one was 35 days. I think, if I remember correctly, that my cycle used to be about 34 days. So then I ovulate on day 16/17?
This month I did the "cervical mucus" (WAY too much information and also don't know if that is the name) and it could stretch on day 14. BUT then on day 16 I had serious stomach cramps, like period cramps, so that could then also have been ovulation? How confusing is this!

So when can I test? Tomorrow is day 9 after we "did" it.

We are not trying to conceive yet, will start in December if this one is negative.
