Hi Shakira.

I too have endometriosis, stage 4 (which is our terms means bad).
I conceived completely naturally about a year after my first laparoscopy 6 years ago, and had another lapascope done a year ago.
It really needs to be diagnosed properly (as the other ladies mentioned) with the laparoscopy, and then the full extent can be seen & treated.
I have been battling for over a year now for baby number 2 (but the endo is also alot worse than before). I have, however, not been back for more fertility meds as we would like to try naturally for a while longer.

Once she gets a proper diagnosis, she should be able to conceive quite easily.

Hope to hear good news about a BFP for your cousin soon!

Salaams Shakira,

I also have endo and has Julz says it is very difficult to diagnose with just a simple consult at the gynae. I had mine diagnosed when I went for a laporoscopy.

It was removed and then I conceived.

In my opinion I think your cousin should consider seeing a fertility specialist so she knows exactly what is wrong and she can move forward with treatment and ultimately conceiving.

I had my Lap done in May and conceived in September the same year.

Good luck to her

Hi Shakira

Endo of the ovaries means that she probably has a chocolate cyst. I think it is important that she goes to a fertility specialist so that he can make sure this is the correct diagnosis. This is not easy to see on an ultrasound and it may certainly mean that she has endo elsewhere which can only be seen with lap surgery.

I am not a doctor but I have endometriosis and know that it is a very difficult disease to diagnose from a simple consult.

If it is an endometriosis cyst they often drain them. It may interfere with her ovulation which is again why I say she should see an fs rather.

The good news is that under the correct care endo can often be removed even if severe and one can fall pregant naturally but it is best that her tubes are checked for blockages and adhesions.

Best of luck to her.

Thanks gloeiwurmpie.

It's nice to just get an idea of what it's like for other women with the same thing. Thanks.

My cousin has this, and has been struggling to conceive for the past 3 years. She is undergoing fertility treatment, but no luck so far. However I don't know enough about the condition to make statements about it. This is just one person I know, it does not give an acurate indication.
Best of luck to your cousin, hope this isn't a problem for her with TTC.

Hi ladies,

My cousin has been married for 6 months and is TTC. She went for a check up at the gynea yesterday and she told her she had endometriosis of the Ovaries. Her gynea said that it wouldn't interfere with her TTC but she googled it and has read something else. She is so sad and worried. Have any of you ladies had this or have any info?
