Ovulation Question

Some say that you should give a break to allow fresh sperm to form but not too long. I recon you have really done well do good luck for the 5th!!!!

we bd every day for over a week till i ovulated.. Thought there was a theory behind waiting for every 2nd day! We have a 17 mnth old darling of a boy and my hubby would love a girl so trying the recipe just in case. We had loads of fun trying! This is our 1st mnth of bd and hopefully we are blessed as i have medical issues that the time is NOW! Was supp to start June pp to Sept pp to dec so its now! I test on the 5th..

with every second day you ensure that you dont miss the egg, so there is always some spermies in there waiting when the egg gets released.

i would also not worry too much about when to bd for the 1st few months, otherwise it becomes too stressfull, just enjoy your dh and have some fun!

thanks girls! Whats the theory on every 2nd day? Anyway i ovulated on day 14 and we bd for over a week waiting of the lh rise. Testing on the 5th!

I agree completely with Madenia.

You can usually take the ave cycle length and deduct 14 from it because ovulation is ideally 14 days prior to the start of the next cycle. This means that some months you will ovulate sooner than other months.

The only problem is your cycles can fluctuate so the first thing a fertility specialist will advise is to have sex every other day from the start of your cycle and don't worry about all the rest. Enjoy making your baby. As soon as you start trying to calculate it becomes a science which takes all the pleasure out of it especially for the man.

Okay enough lecture from me!!!

If you do want a girl then ideally you should have sex about 3 days prior to ovulation and then don't do it till after you have ovulated but this means you have to know when you are going to ovulate and you may miss the boat completely. They say it has a 70% success rate but not so sure.

I think the best would be after AF to just DTD every second night.
I'm pretty sure the DTD pattern is not scientifically proven(in terms of conceiving a boy or girl)

Hi all..

Just to find out, we are TTC in the next couple of weeks. I normally have a 28 day cycle starting on a Wednesday and ovulating on the Wednesday 14 days later. Well on the 14th day I get that ovulationb pain in my side..

This month however, I was due to menstruate yesterday but my period came on Sunday so was 4 days early. When I calculate my ovulation date for this month, do we stick to when I wouldve ovulated i.e Wednesday the 22nd or will it now be 3-4 days earlier cos I bled earlier??

We are wanting to try for a girl so want to stop before I ovulate but now confused as to when that is!!
