Trying to conceive after 1st baby died

Hi Gloeiwurm...would you be able to share how your previous dr failed to assist with your emergency? I need to find a new gyne and do not want to make a mistake choosing one

Thank you for the reply, I really do appreciate it I heard many wonderful things about Dr. Roodt and will definitely discuss it with my husband. I also phoned my doctor during the week, and went to see him, he is going to help us get pregnant again. I went for all the tests yesterday and already got the reports back. All my tests came back looking 100% fine. I think its only me thats stressing to get pregnant again I want it so desperately to be a mommy again...

I am with Dr Leon Roodt, have been with him for over 6 years. He took care of me and delivered my last 2 babies and I am VERY happy with him. His receptionist is also very nice which is a bonus.

I fully understand why you would like to find a new gyane. I think when we go through such a loss, it is hard to use the same gynae again. Too many sad memories.

I had a friend who recovered from cervical cancer, but then chose to use a different gynae to deliver her baby as she wanted the new pregnancy and birth to be a completely new experience.

I am with Dr sevenster at Unitas. I am very happy with him because he is known to have a very low rate of births going "wrong" and his ability to cope with emergency situations. This was important to me since my previous doctor failed misserably in an emergency with myself.

He is an older doctor and not as charismatic as "younger" doctors but very experienced in my opinion. With time you realise he is a very gentle man although he seems very cold and to the point in the beginning.

A friend of mine is a fertility specialist doctor, who worked with him for years and knows him quite well. What I know of him, is that he is really a good doctor.

He is also very reasonably priced. Discovery health paid for the whole pregnancy. I didn't pay a cent for the whole pregnancy or birth.

He is very neutral regarding birth options, and not a doctor who will force or persuade you to have a c-sec because it suits his schedule better.

He delivered a good friend of mines triplets last year. Not many people know, but it is a miracle for triplets to be born healthy with no serious problems, however this friend's triplets all survived and was very healthy. I do believe Dr Sevenster had his part to play in this miraculous story of the triplets.

He has an awesome receptionist, she is very kind, friendly and extremely helpful.

He also does fertility treatment should one need it.

Im so very sorry to hear about your baby girl I had a similar experience except i had to terminate my pregnancy last yr August due to baby having complication and abnormalities.

Hubby and i have been trying for the last 17 months and nothing so far..

Please join us on the TTC thread, you will find lots of advice and friendly ladies there.

I dont know Unitas at all, so i cant help you on that one..
