Working Out Ovulation

I have a BB and have download a free ovulation calculator app (i'm sure other smart phones would have similar)...

This is awesome as my cycle is about 35 days long and 2 months ago i tested myself with an ovulation test around the day it said i would be ovulation & it was spot on... It even tells me when would be best sex days for male or female baby... Not sure how accurate it is, but will let you know once i've managed to conceive...

I had also trouble trying to work out my ovulation and I do keep record of my periods start etc so I've bought those ovulation kits and did a test.... negative, that night we had sex and guess what I got pregnant

Yes, I agree with 1st timer. The best way to know for sure is to get those ovulation kits. I used dischem's one with good results.

I would highly recommend buying the ovulation test kits from the pharmacy for the first month to work out when you ovulate. My cycle is 31 days and I ovulate on day 18. I have a friend with a similar length cycle who ovulates on day 10.

Day 14 is most likely the day of the ovulation.
Day 1 would be 30 july and day 14 then 12 August.
Sperm can live anything from 2 - 5 days (although 48 hours are the norm).
If I am correct, female eggs have 48 hours to be fertilised after ovulation.
There could be a chance of pregnancy if you maybe ovulated on the 13th or maybe the 14th...

Pregnancy tests can sometimes get as early as 10 days past ovulation a positive test, however 14 days are more acurate.
