Hopeful, good luck on your TTC journey. It took us 2 years and 2 IUI's to conceive... and looking back - it was worth every tear.

Back to your DH's results... My DH has an awesome spermcount 100mil, but only 4% morphology. The gynea and urologist said our only option was IVF with ICSI. When we saw our FS he was stunned that we had not fallen pregnant yet. And he was convinced an IUI would work - and it did. So, do not loose hope, sometimes urologists only have theory and their frame of reference...

Back to the staminogro - did not do ANYTHING for DH. But i am glad you mentioned the sperm-i-prove... DH and I are trying for nr 2, and we need all the help we can get, as we decided not to opt for the IUI route again.

Best of luck!

Hi Chaz,

Thank you for all the info, thats really a great help. I will go to the website and have a look if I can order it. Curretnly not yet looking at IVF or IUI really hopeing that we can do this with out further treatment but I am starting to realise more and more that is probably a pipe dream. We will prob start looking at more agresive treatment by midle next year so this information will really help :)

Hi Hopeful

Actually in SA our med aids don't pay for ANY fertility treatment. BUT the med aids see sperm-i-prove as a multi vitamin and not as an aid. Med aid wouldnt pay for my clomid. ALL our treatments and meds came from our pocket.

IUI- with my hubby, when they did the sperm wash my hubbys sperm improved drastically. His morphology before the wash was only 15% (this is low) and after the wash it increased to 90%. His sperm count was 56000 before the wash and 40000 after the wash.

If you want to buy the sperm-i-prove online you can go to makingbabies.co.za (marcel sells and posts it for you).

For us we had to travel to get our treatments done. So for the IUI procedure, meds I needed, and travel costs - our first IUI costed us about 10k in total. But the IUI on its own was R2500.

I really would advise to rather try IUI first. IVF is very expensive and isnt always successful first time round. But I know a few who were lucky.

Goodluck ;)

Hi and welcome :)

Even though my hubby and I are fortunate enough not to have any fertility issues, we both took Staminogro whilst TTC after losing our first LO. I fell pregnant on my second cycle. I must add though that we had sex every single day (I was desperate to conceive asap after our loss) to not miss any chance.

Good luck and I'm holding thumbs for you to get your BFP soon :)

Thank you Chaz,

Congratulations on your bundle that is great news!!!! I will have a look if I can find sperm-i-prove, as mentioned we live in Namibia and things are not alwys as readily available, but I am sure that I can order it. Sadly NO medical aid in Namibia cover any fertility treatment not even a visit to the urologist so every thing we do is out of our own pocket thats also why we have not opted for IVF or IUI as we need to go to SA to do it with no medical coverage. So I am trying my best to look at more cost effective options while we save for the big one :pinch:

Its been a long journey so hoping that it will come to an end soon

Thanks again for your reply

Hi Hopeful

I hope that your ttc journey will soon be over ;)

My personal opinion. Don't use the staminogro. I strongly advise sperm-i-prove. Not only is it much cheaper and most med aids pay for it but its also way more effective than staminogro and spermaid. Most Fertility Specialists are also now recommending the sperm-i-prove because of the fantastic results.

Out of personal experience I had my hubby on staminogro for two years and his sperm quality never improved. When we saw our Fertility Specialist in Jan this year he advised my hubby to use sperm-i-prove and that I use the staminogro to improve my egg quality. After two months we fell pregnant (the second month we did IUI). I am now almost 31 weeks pregnant.

So there is hope

Staminogor was created by Hopeful
Hi Almal,

I am new here to this forum and looking forward to reading a South African based one ( although I currently live in Namibia ) me and hubby have been TTC since March 2010. Have also been tested and sadly it turns out that he has a super low sperm count only 3 000 000 living sperm from the minimum 30 000 000 requierment. The urologist is not really hopeful that this will happen naturally for us ( although I have to admit the specialist that we went to wanst great ). we are trying to change to a more positive lifestile with a healthy diet, gym ( when and if I can get hubby to go ) ect ect its been since march this year and there is still no change. I have recently hear of Staminogro and that it has done wonders for people but I wanted to find out weather any one else here has used it and foud it to work? I think I will give it a try as its just vitimins there is no harm in trying. It would however be great to feedback though on the product.
