Hi

I had mine removed in the Dr's rooms and it was not painful at all. And I just had mild period like cramps & some spotting for the rest of the day. That's it.

I had the copper IUD - not the Mirena - only difference really is that there were no hormones.
I also had it inserted before I had my LO- Was uncomfortable during the insertion in the dr's rooms but nothing afterward.
Was also happy with the loop.

As for the removal - I went to the gynea for a check up and told him that I wanted to start TTC - and that I would want the loop removed on my next menstrual cycle - I was told by my dr that it was best to do it with the menstrual bleed. but the gynea whilst doing the pap - just pulled it out. No discomfort and a little spotting.

A lot simpler than the insertion.

Good luck with the removal and hope you conceive quickly.

Hi everyone!
I am having my Mirena removed in May, decided it is time for the next step for my husband and I... Exciting, but very nervous!

But now it is time for removal... Would really like to hear from any ladies who has had theirs removed, what did you experience, was it quick, painfull, or did you not even feel it?

I had a WONDERFUL Mirena experience for the Two and a half years I have had it, would definitely recommend it! It was the best money I ever spent health and convenience wise, even after reading about a lot of women who weren't happy with it. I always tell my friends who ask about it, that if someone has a bad experience with something they will broadcast it all over the web and make issues about it, but if you have a good or even great experience with something, they don't neccessarily put it on the web. So there is a lot of bad 'press' for the Mirena, but I loved it, so hear is some 'good press'!

I would only recommend not having it inserted in the gynea's rooms if you have not had kids yet (like I did...), definitely opt for the theatre option... It was really not a nice experience, had nausea and vomiting and PAIN, but at least felt better after a day or 3... Other than that, its great!

Would love to hear about your experiences...
