Hi Joybaby

Thanks for the advice ;) I will try be patient and just wait and see. Unfortunately getting an appointment with my gynae or FS is very hard. And seeing a new gynae is just not an option.

Thanks again :)

Hi Chanz.

Its normal for cycles to be slightly different in length each month and on the occasional month some women do not ovulate which could appear as a very lengthy cycle without AF combined with a BFN on testing.
Generally the first half of your cycle can differ depending on when the egg is released (sometimes earlier sometimes later), and the last part of the cycle remains the same, but unless you are charting this isnt something you would be able to know.
It could really be a number of things but I would say give your body time and if still no AF by the weekend then test again and if still BFN u can ask ur FS / gynae to give something to bring on AF.

HCG doesnt go away after 12 weeks, it just drops from the initially high levels now that the placenta is formed. But if someone is 20 weeks pg a HPT will still show positive. There are reported cases of ppl who never get BFP's and yet are pregnant but they are few and far.

If u are impatient then give ur gynae a call towards the end of the week and get his advice. Probably the best thing to do is go for a blood test for quantitive and qualitive HCG. I remember Vix only got her BFP a week late and she had twins.

Good luck!

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Hi Moomies

Curious, how long did it take for your cycles to return to normal after giving birth?

I gave birth on 1 October 2011 and my cycles haven't been what they were before falling pregnant. I only breastfed till 8 weeks. I have PCOS. My whole life my cycles have been regular at 28 days until we conceived Michael. Although my FS said in March 2012 that he saw no sign of any cycsts with the ultrasound he did and I had one mature follie. But since Dec 2011 this is how my cycles have been; 27 days, 26 days, 28 days, 29 days and I am currently on cd 31 with no sign of AF. I did a uring hpt today and 3 days ago= BFFN (big fat freaking negative). I know irregular periods are common with pcos but I never had that problem before.

Just wondering if this is normal at all. Is it possible that the follie my FS saw in March was a cyst? Is it possible that a cyst could hide a baby? I read that the body stops producing hcg after 12 weeks. My boobs are extremely sore, extreme lower back ache throughout my cycle the last 3-4months. Am I being paranoid LOL?

Hope someone can shed their experience :)
