Anyone else trying for a 2014 baby?

Gain-a-baby: The sad part about the OPK's are that they are expensive, and often you use more than one in a month, at least that was my experience. The test picks up on the LH surge before ovulation, but the test is only a true positive if both lines are (almost) equally dark. You might find that you the test on Day 11 and then you see perhaps that the control line is dark but the test line is 50% lighter than the control line. Therefore there is indication that ovulation is approaching, but it could still be a couple of days. Then you might test the next day again and then perhaps the second line is 30% lighter than the control line. THe following day it might be equally dark. Therefore you often need a few tests.

The information on the fertility friend about how fertility works is really great. If you have the time, I would recommend you read up on it. They also explain how to check for cervical mucus and cervix position that indicates ovulation as well.

Flowergirl: Oh no, so sorry to hear. I KNOW from my ectopic years ago that it is an extreme shock on your system. All the mixed up emotions of suddenly finding out that you are pregnant and then realising this is a life threatening situation to suddenly going into theatre and then the realisation of the loss of pregnancy. I am so glad you were so fortunate to have had good medical staff that treated you correctly so that you could save the tube! But I am so sorry to hear that you lost the pregnancy.

Hoping that you have a warm loving support from family and friends.

Please take care of yourself and give yourself a lot of space to recover emotionally and allow all feelings to be.

Oh FG!! I am so, so sorry to hear Glad to hear that all went well - sounds like it could have been a lot more serious if you had left it longer.

It is interesting to hear that you fell pregnant without any assistance what so ever. I hope that it happens again soon!

Look after yourself..

Hi ladies - not sure where to start. This a selfish post, all about me. On Friday morning I woke up with severe cramping. It was my daughters bday so I just stood strong and ignored it. It got worse and I also started spotting. Have been off fertomid for 2 cycles so I wasn't charting and not even sure when my last af was. I bearded with the pain until last night -just couldn't anymore so went to emergency room. They did a pregnancy test - positive. But obviously the pain wasn't normal so I was admitted to hospital to run tests. Unfortunately it was an ectopic pregnancy. Just out of theatre, so still feeling a bit emotionless. At least I didn't find out earlier and get excited. The surgery went well, they were able to save the tube so no long term effects.

For me it was an eye-opener (The charting and OPK tests). I concluded that I ovulate at 'n different time every month! Ha ha! So, yes...not always the info you wanted to hear.

Extremely difficult, I've registered with fertility friend but only been charting my AF and not when I ovulate , never used an ovulation kit in my life, it would be a good time to start.
