So after our DD and DS was born, hubby and I was convinced that we were done. We had our pigeon pair that we always wanted. He went for a vasectomy in 2010 (which I insisted on) and got the all clear after the procedure was done.
But for the past couple of months I so regret making that big decision. I basically know there is nothing I can do about it now. Vasectomy reversal can cost a lot of money and isn't always successful. Except for that hubby won't go for it anyway. I read up that you can do sperm retrieval and then do IVF and the chances of that is also not 100% and very costly.
Just thought I'd share my story and tell people that they should really think twice before making such a big decision. Don't do it until all the kids are at least out of nappies. At least if dh didn't have the vasectomy he would agree on having a third one now.
When we went for the vasectomy consultation the Dr told us about the slight chance of recanalization of the vas deferens. We even had to sign an agreement that we won't sue the Dr if this should happen, we were happy with that and said if it had to happen it would be a miracle baby. So I'm hoping that this might happen to us, but considering the odds of I think 1% I won't be getting my hopes up. Guess I'll just have to live with it.
Anyone out there in the same situation?
