Trying again after D&C

this was my 3rd MC and I agree it does help to talk about it but you never forget, a of you is forever missing!

So so sorry for your losses. Losing a baby is one of the hardest things a couple can go through.

I had a MC, (next month will be) 6 years ago and it feels like yesterday that it happened. I remember the date, the time, everything. The only thing that got me through it all was talking about it (just like Lucy says).

As for when you are ready, I had a natural MC so no D&C was necessary. My gynae told me that I could try again as soon as the bleeding had stopped and when I was ready. I wanted to be pregnant so badly so we decided to try immediately. I conceived my son 3 weeks later. His pregnancy was a worry from the day I got my BFP. It is so hard and its always scary to take that road again. Good luck xxx

I had an mc about 5 years. I found talking about it helped me heal. But I think you never totally forget! I have a 3 year old girl and I am now 9 weeks preggie. I am still stressed something will go wrong!!!
Anyway I am 39 years old and totally get your age concerns. But you do still have plenty of time

Thanks for sharing your experience Lilly - it took us 3 years to be on the 'same page' long enough to try again! Fortunately I fell pregnant quickly otherwise either one of us might have changed our minds.

We were talking again last night, although the M/C was awful, in a way it's good that we have had this time to talk things through. My husband is being fantastic, and has been so honest with me. Last night he said he is ready to try again as soon as I am

So here goes....in the meantime I am also trying to lose weight, it's hard but I feel motivated as it can only be a good thing for (hopefully) the next pregnancy.

the heart wants what it wants, and no matter how hard I try to forget, deep I know how badly I want a third child, people think its because we only have boys and want a girl but its not! yes a little girl would be fantastic but another boy would be just as rewarding!

right in the beginning my husband was hesitant and I was eager and then 2 months later I was the hesitant and he was eager, we were never on the same "page" and that is when I realized we are not ready and we are setting ourselves up for more heartache, so we decided to leave it, focus on losing weight. My first pregnancy was complicated because I have HBP. so for now we take it day by day!

It's great to connect with someone in a similar situation, the miscarriage was really tough. It is a great comfort that I have two boys (easy healthy pregnancies), but it made it even more of a shock that I miscarried. A big reminder that you can never assume anything!

Thanks for the advice - I want to wait for one normal cycle then see if my hubby is keen (the miscarriage was hard on him too, now he is hesitant).

All the very best with your journey, I know that feeling in your heart, since my miscarriage it has only intensified. Sometimes I feel like I should be grateful and content with the two amazing boys we already have, and not tempt fate, but that is the head talking and not the heart!

I had a MC & DC in Dec last year, my gyne advised that we start trying immediately because I battle to fall pregnant, and now after close to 6 months we decided to take a break, if it happens, it happens, we will actively try again in January. I also have 2 beautiful boys and deep down in my heart I long for another baby.

If your Dr gave you a clean bill of health and you feel emotionally ready to try again, go for it!
