I am so sorry to hear of the ordeal you went through. I have had a similar experience 6 years ago where I also had an ectopic and it ended in an emergency operation where I lost my one tube and lots of blood...It was a severely traumatic experience.

I am shocked to hear of yet another case where doctors didn't act quickly and efficiently with an ectopic pregnancy. There should ALWAYS be reason to suspect an ectopic pregnancy if you have a positive pregnancy test but no sign of the pregnancy or a low HCG level. I am shocked to hear that a doctor went and prescribed Progesterone without first ruling out an ectopic first. At least a doctor should educate you about the risk of an ectopic and the symptoms so that the loss of tubes or life can be prevented.

Again, so sorry for your loss and the heartbreak and physical pain you had to endure. Please take care of yourself and be gentle with your emotions, it takes time to recover.

After my ectopic I managed to conveive 6 months later in our first month of trying my LG who is now 5 years old. I am pregnant now again (not so quick this time round) and I have to do the quantitive HCG level test on Friday to confirm that the levels are rising normally.

Hi Ladies, i just wanted to share my experience , it was just over a year ttc , when i found out i was pregnant doing my own calculation from my lmp i was 6 weeks pregnant so i booked my gynae appointment which fell on my birthday we were extremely excited but on that day my gynae couldn't see anything on the scan and assumed it could be too early , she just prescribed progesterone meds because my levels appeared low on the test and she asked me to come back in 2 weeks , just 12 days later i was rushed to hospital because i had passed out due to the severe pains experienced , a scan was done and the gynae confirmed it was an ectopic i had to have immediate surgery because it appeared that one of my tubes ruptured and was bleeding heavily , it was the saddest day of my life we heard the little heartbeat but it was just not possible for it to survive ,it has been an emotional and physical battle but i will not let it bring me down, it is now six weeks and the doctor confirmed all is in order and we can try again .I am positive that the next one is going to be perfect
