Hi Yas
Welcome! I'm sure you'll feel right at home here. Quite a bunch of us chatting in the TTC forums (especially the Afrikaans one - English speaking ladies also welcome if you don't mind reading lots of Afrikaans). I think all of us understand too well how it feels when people tell you to relax and not stress, or in my case "So when is no 2 due? Just get it over and done with" - as if its that easy.
You don't mention the reason why you are on Clomid / Fertomid. In my case I use it due to having PCOS and have also been on it for almost a year now. However my gynae referred me to an FS after the first 3 months already and I almost wish that it would have been sooner as the FS is much more thorough (blood tests, scans etc) and adjusted the dosage of Fertomid as needed (whereas my gynae just presribed the lowest dose for 3 months straight without checkups or any changes to the dosage when it didn't work).
My FS also immediately had my husband checked out as well, as there really is no point in treating a woman if her partner also has issues. My husband's tests were mostly fine (except for 1 small thing) but discussing the different results with the FS made me realise just how many issues men can have.
IMHO you really should consider seeing an FS if you have been diagnosed with something in particular, but also have your partner checked out. If your gynae prescribed Fertomid without diagnosing you with something in particular, I would at least get a second opinion else where, and then you may as well use an FS because it doesn't seem to be more expensive (not compared to my doctors' fees).
One last thing, my FS said to use Fertomid / Clomid only for 3 months at a time, with a month break in between, as it has been proved that using it constantly without breaks actually reduces your chances of success over time. Reason is that the effect of it stays in your system for a long time, which I also notice in the break months.
All the best for your TTC journey - hope to hear your successful story soon.
