Krisps,

What a roller-coaster you have been on and if the gynae told you in October it could've been sorted out then :headbang: I have been feeling like my hormones have been all over the place these last months as have odd mood swings from weepy to happy and quick tempered sometimes.

Thank you for the advise and I will definitely get a copy of the results!

Baby dust to you!!

Hi Jay-Bee01

I feel much better knowing what's going on now, thanks!

I did all my blood tests in October last year, FSH and Estradiol and progesterone included, except I didn't do the 3 day bloods because I wasn't menstruating at all by then. But for some reason my doctors told me everything was fine except for my insulin and cholesterol levels, so I was in a panic and arguing with the gynae last week saying everything was fine with hormones and there was something wrong and when she checked my blood results, it was blatantly obvious that my progesterone was low and oestrogen was high which caused all the drama.

Try get a copy of your results so you can research the results or ask for second opinion afterwards, feels like I wasted a lot of time panicking because I relied on what the doctor told me instead of asking to see the results myself.

Good luck with everything!!!! *holding thumbs*

Hi Krisps

I am going for blood-work next week as we have been ttc since beginning of last year with no success. Did you have the Day 3 FSH and Estradiol test done first and now lately the Progesterone test or did you have other tests done first?

Its good news that you now have answers and you feel better! :)

Thanks @3xmom

sorry for the late response, for some odd reason I didn't get an email notification of your reply. Congratulations on your pregnancy :)

I did end up going to the gynae last week only to find out that my progesterone levels were really low and for some odd reason, my doctor didn't think this was an important thing to tell me when she did my bloods in October last year
So anyway, I was given Provera and now I have my first period in 5 months, my skin has calmed down a lot and I just feel a lot better! Hopefully there will be some good news in the near future

Have an awesome week!!!

hi Krisps,

I havent had all those tests etc done, but i did have a few things in common.

I also struggled to get my period regulated, i would go for over 100 days without having a period. this went on for 2 years. i had the acne, tho not that bad, i had my gall bladder removed last year.

i gave up on getting pregnant again, and let things be. I stopped worrying about my unruly periods etc, i decided to go on a diet, i had to get my thyroid checked (still not done).

November i went for a gastroscopy and 1 week there after found out I was 9 weeks pregnant.

Ill advice get to a good OB GYN and have a good check up. theyre specialists in this field, and give yourself space and time. dont rush things, you will only get yourself upset and unhappy...

good luck with your journey!!

Hi everyone, I’m at my wit’s end with all the poking and prodding and lack of results over the last 2 months. So basically I went in June for blood tests to see if everything was ok before TTC and blood results came back and doc said everything looks good to go and PCOS bloodworks seems like it’s not even an issue anymore and the only problem is my blood sugar and I should try lower it. So for the next 3 months I ate right and exercised etc. and then suddenly in September no period (and nothing since then to date) and my skin broke out horribly (I haven’t had painful acne like this since I went on the pill almost 5 years ago – and I haven’t been on any contraceptive oral medication since then FYI). All I had was spotting, so I went for a horribly painful pap smear and more blood tests in October and blood results were normal again, blood sugar still a bit high and the doctor said spotting wasn’t spotting, it looked like an infection so I went on antibiotics and then also went for an ultrasound. The spotting stopped until I finished the course of antibiotics, then it was back again. Ultrasound was ok, doc said there were a few more follicles than normal but it wasn’t overly concerning and not enough for PCOS so all ok on that front, oh except I had a gallstone?! So now I’m back at square 1, have to find a gynae to do the internal ultrasound now, maybe she’ll pick something up because they can’t figure out what’s wrong.
So has anyone had anything similar happen to them and is it because of the insulin resistance? The symptoms are as follows:
• Painful sex
• ‘spotting’ / pink-red-brown discharge
• Painful cystic acne on face and back (seems to have cleared up now since the antibiotic)
• No period
Any help/advice would be great, please :S !
