Hi Ladies,
Sorry to intrude on your topic. I just thought you'd like to hear my experience so far.
I have 2 lovely girls Natasha 13 and Rachel 11. Unfortunately their father and I split up when the youngest was only 2. I was 19 when Tash was born and 21 when Rachel came along.
As circumstances would have it, their father, being older and having alot more family support, got custody of the girls.
I am now 33, engaged to a wonderful man, and we're now expecting our first child together (my third). Another girl!
I must admit that I have forgotten so much about what it was like to be pregnant, and having a baby, that it really does feel like the first time again!
Especially with DF experiencing everything for the first time.
Being a little older I am worried about the birth. Both my girls were born naturally, Epidural with the eldest and completely drug free with the second.
But I'm going the natural route again if possible.
So far tho, I can't say that I'm any more tired, or moody or anything than other first time moms. (A colleague of mine is expecting her very first about 2 weeks after me and she's off sick more than I am). I guess I'm just lucky to have had no morning sickness, and to be healthy.
I do have low iron count and on occassion low blood pressure, but nothing serious at all.
My girls being older were a little worried at first. Seeing as they live with their dad, they thought I might be trying to replace them.
Now tho they're alot more excited, and can't wait to meet their little sister!
They're already arguing over who will be bathing, feeding and changing her on the weekends and school holidays when they visit.
I can't say that you can ever leave it too long, tho it does seem more daunting the older one gets.
Whenever you decide to try for number 3, no matter how old you are, remember that our little ones are a gift from God, and He would never give you something He didn't think you could handle.
