Advice PLEASE

Hi Hails, So sorry to hear. We also struggled for 3 years without any success. We tried everything under the sun. Eventually I went to this Dr in PTA and she did all the tests it was devastating for us. So someone told me to get Proxeed Plus for Hubby. I went to the pharmacy to get the stuff thinking to myself I am paying so much for these sachets maybe we should consider other options. He started using the Proxeed Plus for 4 month and I fell pg in Feb this year. Unfortunately I lost our little bean. So we back to square 1. I am not saying it will work for you and hubby, but it did work for us. Good luck and keep us posted.

@DieSwartKat thank you so much for your kind words. I am hoping for the best out of the results and trying to stay positive. I would love to start a family and in a way know that God has a plan for me and he wouldn't take that away from me, maybe we just need to take the hard way round in order to appreciate the little ones more.

We never went through what you are describing, just wanted to say two things:

1. In my opinion a diagnosis is a massive step towards getting a result you want. Better to find out now, than try desperately for 10 years without success.

2. I've been a patient of Dr Bell, he is wonderful. I imagine he must have 30 years experience by now, there can't be a lot that he hasn't seen!

Morning Everyone. I am so glad there is actually a site for South African women TTC, it just feels better to ask people closer to home you know?

Anyways a bit about me and hubby. Been TTC since Nov 2012. Tried everything under the sun (well the cheap things lol). Did a few rounds of Clomid no success, tried Fertilaid and all that did was make me super large and moody. Eventually this year actually in June found a good gynae at Wilgeheuwel and decided to start from the beginning again. Went for my regular check up etc and I ovulate fine and saw a little eggy on the scan so that was a relief. The next logical step was a Semen Analysis for my husband. We got the results last week and it was not what we had expected at all... The doctor called and said that my husband had a zero sperm count. I was heartbroken and didnt know what to do really from there. Did some research with "Dr Google" to see what our options were, and have booked with a Urologist Dr Bell at Wilgeheuwel for the 14th of July (earliest booking I could get which sucks) and he will most likely do some more poking and prodding to find out the final diagnosis.

My question is , has anyone ever been through this with a positive outcome? The things you read online are so scary and make me think that our chances are so limited. I dont want to feel that way but I have so little hope at the moment, just thinking about it brings me to tears. What is the process and how much do these things actually cost and what time frame are we looking at before we will MAYBE be able to have a child of our own.
