both of us been tested, im good, nothing wrong, husband has zero sperm count with antbodies present on his SA, so was referred to a urologist in Pretoria, going there on the 27th of Januarie.
i think i need an outlet, so i can progress this....

Hubby and I have been TTC for 1 year and almost 9 months now. I am on my fourth cycle of 100mg Fertomid, trying to stimulate ovulation. I was on the Pill for almost 15 years, which literally stopped my ovaries from working. I now need meds to help me ovulate. Hubby wasn't keen on an SA either - He also said it will happen when it is supposed to happen. This was until January 2015, when my doctor sent him for an SA. His count was lowish (13.8mill) and he had poor morphology (shape of the fishies). Doc then put him on Sperm-i-prove to improve his count. When he did another SA in June 2015, his count increased dramatically, but his morphology was still low. Our FS said that he is now trying to increase hubbies sperm count to as high as it can get. Because of his morphology, only 2% of the sample is healthy shaped sperm. Yet, 2% of 60mill is much more than 2% of 13,9mill, you agree?

So, yes. It's hard for the men to face their biggest fear. It's uncomfortable for them, and you must understand it is a pride issue. Fertility is something that men want to have, and they don't like knowing that the problem lies with them. Yet, you will never know if you don't. Maybe you should see an FS together - Let the doc ask him to do an SA, not you. In that way, you can support him through the process, without the risk of him feeling embarrassed that the problem might lie with them. It's no easy feat, my dear girl. It's a hard journey and very tough at times. I've been for almost 4 visits at my gynae, and we've seen an FS together. My current dose of fertomid is successful in making me ovulate, that's why we are staying with the dosage. If nothing happens by June, we'll consider alternative routes.

I am sorry to hear about the trouble you are having, it really is something terrible to have to go through.

Perhaps just sit down and chat quietly about it and ask him if he will consider getting tested. It is an extremely difficult thing for men to have to do but hey, if we have to get probed and pricked then I think it is only fair that they also do their fair share. You may be wasting so much time on something that can be fixed now. There really is no easy way around it as I am sure the ladies will agree that every man absolutely hates the idea of giving a sample.
