I saw Dr Wynand Van Tonder - he was at Medfem, now accross the road at Sandton Mediclinic.
He treated me for my PCOS and endometriosis. Saw me through both my kids. Helped me with AI. We did "natural" AI so i did the hormones but sex at home, no turkey baster.
He is extremely knowlegable and has helped a couple of people I know conceive.
Dr Rodrigues at Medfem is apparently also good.

Hi there,

Your various options are Vitalab, BioArt, Genesis, Pretoria East Fertility Clinic and a few others. Have you gone to see a gynae at all? Sorry you have been struggling! I am 23 and have been trying for just over a year, found out in November my tubes are blocked so unfortunately it is IVF for me... Your gynae will prob check things like your ovulation levels to see if you are ovulating, your tubes are open, your hubby's sperm count and a few other blood tests. Join the ladies on TTC 2017, it helps you figure out what you should be looking for.

Me: 24
DH:25

April 2015: Trying for #1
November 2015: Diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometriosis. Laparascopy to remove chocolate cyst and most of endo. Tubes
blocked and referred for IVF... Visanne prescribed.
Oct 2016 - IVF#1 - BFN
March 2017 - FET - BFN
April 2017 - Surprise BFP!
June 17 -Late M/C 13w4
Aug 17 - Chemical pregnancy M/C 5 weeks
Nov 17- BFP on my birthday! 13DPO BETA 201

Thank you Louwla :)

I agree hey, i just dont have the funds for IVF and just really want to find out what is wrong.

Ive contacted a few places in JHB and they are actually very cold. Within the first minute of phone convo or the first email they are quoting me on operations and IVF. :headbang:

That really put me off...

But I contacted Dr Aikman's rooms in Kempton Park because I have a few friends that had success with him and some of my friends are here today because their moms went to him and got pregnant. The staff there were lovely and very kind and helpful, and warm. So I am going to try them first. The pricing is also alot better.

Will let you know how it goes :) :P

Vitalab is very good. Just don't allow the dr to pressure you into doing IVF if you are able to do artificial insemination. They tend not to recommend it, although it's a price difference of R60000 vs R4000. AI worked for is the first time. Also have a friend who did 3 rounds of IVF, didn't work and she got pregnant twice after that with AI. It's your money, your body and your decision! Best wishes for your journey.. I know how hard it can be at times!

Hi Ladies

So we have been trying on and off for 3 years now and still nothing. We have decided that we will be going to see a specialist.

I am 24 and so is DF.

The only thing is now I dont know which ones to try?! Ive given Vitalabs a call and they seem very efficient.

I'd like to know which FS's you all have tried or can recommend.

Thanks

R
