Mumps is a viral infection, not bacterial, so antibiotics won't actually help in any way.
It is quite normal for the glands to remain swollen for a few days, sometimes as long as a week. The most important thing with mumps is to try and control the fever and keep the baby/child comfortable. Other than that all you can really do is wait it out.
I took my 15yearold daughter to the doc lastweek thursday and she was diagnosed with mumps.he gave her antibiotictablets nd some painkillers,but the swelling is still there.Is this normal .
