So, since Jaqi was born, and in fact, with all my other kids, I've used Pigeon breastpads. With Jaqi, from the beginning, I had really sore nipples. On day 4 my nipples were actually bleeding and so raw I could die. Got some Bepanthan from my midwive and that never helped. Dh got me Lansinoh - no help either. So anyway last week I finished a pack breastpads and told d h I think the breastpads don't allow my nipples to breath and maybe it does not trap the spilled milk like it should and maybe that is why my nipples are not healing properly? So I went without it, catching up milk with a towel whenever i feed. BTW the only time I leak is when is is neary feeding time or while I amn feeding so it is very predicable - no embarrising leakage lucky me. So yesterday we went out and I had to put in breastpads just in case you know? 5 minutes later my nipples were so sore I wanted to cry! Turns out, i am allergic to the breastpads!!!!

So the noral of my story is, if you struggle with sore nipples, and nothing seems to heal it, and after making sure you get the obvious things right (like latching), chnage the brand of breastpads you're using!!!
