Mells, my LB also had excema. We tried just about everything just like you. Then our GP prescribed an antihistamine syrup for uticaria. It worked within 2 days. We stopped giving it to him after a week and it hasn't been back yet (now about 3 months).

I also found what I think the source of the problem was and eliminated that from his diet. I think it was echina from the homeopathic meds I was giving him to build his immune system. But then I learned that echina can cause excema in some people and I stopped giving him the meds. But stopping it alone did not cure the rash, i think there was to much build up in his system and the antihistamines really helped with that.

Hi Mells...

My Lwandle had the very same mark! Apparently its common to Black babies, so they say hey! Dr said it was nothing but I could see that it was itchy coz LO would bend his head backwards trying to rub it :( I was told the very same thing but hell will have to frezze first before I take my son to a nyanga or sangoma so that azogcatshwa (sorry can't translate ;) ) My gogo told mama to just rub it with baking powder, yes I mean baking powder for baking LOL! In a months time, it was gone!
I just don't believe in those nyoni or ibala things. My understanding is, babies are the same, why are black babies suppose to be taken to sangomas while white babies are not! It never makes sense!

I fit appears to have a dry appearance to it and is red and itchy I would say it sounds a bit like Excema. I would not hesitate taking her to the Dr first. I don't beleive in traditional healers as they are not a part of my culture but do respect that you have this practice. I would however first go to a regular dr because Excema can easily be treated with a cream and perhaps a change in diet.

Sorry how old did you say your baby was?
My lb is 6 months old and still has the 'storks kiss' on the back of his neck.. people are always asking me about it...
I cant see that it's itchy though, so it's probably not the same thing.

I would also take her to a doctor (GP) and hear what he/she says before taking the matter forward. I don't believe in traditional healers and am quite scared of them but if you are a believer and understand what they are about then maybe go that route.
