Hates getting dressed!!!

YIP - Emily also hates getting dressed Funny though, she only screams when I try and dress her after a bath. If I have to change clothing during the day or put on an extra top when it gets cold, she is fine. But, after the bath she just wants to lay there naked, the minute I put the vest over her head, she screams until I am done, and its really serious screaming like someone is hurting her!!!

Its actually quite normal. Distraction works - games like peek a boo (Waars hy), keeping a favorite toy nearby, singing etc. I got DH to put a shelf up above the changing station and I hung toys off that - helps with nappy changing as well, cos as soon as they become more mobile that also becomes a nightmare

Also I know I hate putting on cold clothes after a nice hot bath, so try popping her clothes under your shirt while you dry her - this will warm the clothes slightly and give the added comfort of picking up your scent and helps a bit with self soothing.

But basically you need to stand firm and let her know that she is safe, you love her, but getting dressed is non-negotiable and part of life - hard I know, but they soon accept it

Ah, Happymama, I'm sure many mommies are in the same boat! My little girl also doesn't like getting dressed, especially the sleeves part. My hubby figured out how to distract her with the "Waar's hy? Daar's hy!" game lol, but it only works with him. I try to keep her favourite toy nearby and distract her from crying right after we done and then of course cuddles cuddles cuddles

My suggestion is to take him to the Chiro. He could have a arm or shoulder or something that has 'popped out'. I took my son to the Chiro 3 times from the age of 3 weeks onwards and his elbow was out and shoulder and he used to scream when we dressed him, especially his shirts.

We have a 5mnth old who is a very happy and relaxed baby but after bath time its tim eto get dressed and then its HELL!!!
He screams and performs as if we are trying to kill him!!

Has anyone suffered this problem and any tips welcome please!!!!
