file Sleeping arrangements for babies

Anina - thing is that means I would have to move him in the next month or 2 and he's still happy in the cot. I'm hoping that maybe we can judge after 2-3 months w #2 how he would manage to go into his new room, and then a month or 2 after that, move the baby to the nursery.
Also, I just remembered, my mom is going to stay with us while I'm in hospital and if we change the rooms then there's nowhere for her to sleep!

Why don't you move him a month or two before nr2 arrives? That way he won't see the change as part of the babies arrival.

I want to make any changes to sleeping arrangements asap so that my LB doesn't associate the change with the new baby.

Tess yes it should be fine as long as your lo is realxed about the new baby and is not acting up in anyway. As you say give the room a new make over and make it really exciting.

This is a good topic as my 2yr old is still very comfortable in his sleigh cot and I also worry that when I decided to move him to a bed, that I would have to go through the whole drama of getting him to STAY put. I am expecting our second in August, but will have #2 in a camp cot in our room for at least 3 months, so we have some leeway. But, would it be ok to move #1 to his "new room", freshly painted, new bed etc a few months after #2 arrives??

my 15 month old started doing the exact same thing round about that age which helped me decide on him in his cot coz no matter which way he turned, he didnt get hurt. i didnt want to put him in bed as i didnt want any accidents, and i know he's gotta learn to sleep on his own, but as long as he's comfy and doesnt get hurt, his camp cot sleeping suits him just fine. with the moving around, i dont think its coz he's uncomfy though... maybe just exploring his space in his sleep ;)

anina- i agree, keep #1 in his cot, and get a second one for #2

at first, i had both cots in my room. theres 13 months difference between my 2 babies and got a new camp cot for #2 as i didnt want to invade #1's comfort if you KWIM?

so now i have 3 cots :P 2 camp cots and 1 sleigh cot... we're cramped needless to say.
