Hi Zodwa
I can identify with you 100%.
I had a great day planned for my LG 1st birthday and was very excited about the day and events, but when the day finally arrived, I was in tears most of the day. I couldn't believe she was 1 already and wanted her as my baby forever.

Her second birthday was much better for me.

I hear you Zodwa, loud and clear!!!

I also hit a bit of a wobbly when my LB turned 1 and wanted to just freeze time. A couple of nights before his birthday I actually had gone into his room and was watching him sleep and he looked so big to me... my baby was now a little toddler. I must have stood there a good few minutes with tears streaming down my face.

It does get easier though! I am so enjoying his development now and watching all the milestones he is reaching.

Be strong and enjoy his first birthday on the 20th Feb!!!

PS Memo, I like your time capsule idea!!!

Zodwa, I think it's cos your baby has really always developed pretty fast! He's only a month older than my lb and I've always thought he was quite advanced. So even though I get very (ok very very) green when I hear your baby is sleeping by himself(sorry but the sleeping thing gets me everytime, I'm so depressed over it) I can understand how you could defnitely have a relevant reason for feeling like your little guy has grown a bit fast, lol, in my opinion he has!
Shame sweets, he will however be you're baby forever!
Have you done a time capsule? I'm gonna do one so as to trap him in time as a little baba FOREVER.
xx
Else you could always put a brick on Ruru's head? Ive heard some people have had success with that..

I know I sound crazy, for all I know I probably am crazy but Im really not looking forward to it.
Everytime I think of planning it (its in 12 days by the way) or inviting ppl I feel my shoulders tensing up & my neck starting to become stiff.
I will do it, I have to do it, its one of the happiest days of my life, I will acknowledge it, Im just not looking forward to it.

I really feel like Im losing my baby, crazy I know. I wish he cld stay a baby forever, I wish he didnt have to grow up.
He's more of a toddler already as he walks, more like runs, & can communicate what he wants already. Sleeps by himslef, all night already, so technically speaking my baby is already gone.
But I just feel that the 20th of Feb will cement it, make it more real..

I have a big boy now, but I want my baby back... :(

It wld b nice to know if anybody else out there feels/has felt this way. Or mayb Im really really weird....
