Ja well, that's kids for you.

We had the same with our son. He just decided one day that no more night time nappies. I woke up every 2 hrs to check on him but he was dry. He also never had a dry night time nappy before that. So far he only had one incident of wetting his bed. He gets up at night, come to the toilet in our room and go back to bed.

Jacadebra - that's too cute man. Especially for a little boy! LOL I can imagine a little 2 year old holding his thingie and aiming for the loo

Well girls 2nd night, no nappy and dry in the morning! I did take her to the loo at around 22h30. Kept her on the toilet - she didn't even wake up, put she did wee.

Kayla had a potty. Megan does not have one (I didn't look forward to cleaning it  ). I bought one of those things you put under the toilet lid, put she's not using it. Just climbs up on the toilet.

What really gets to me is that her nappy wasn't dry in the morning before and now it's just like that! Really amazing. Amper soos Paula sou se - soms verstom my eie kids my LOL

Hey nothing wrong with a man sitting to pee and less pee behind the toilet. lol

Jacadebra that is so wonderful. I think I am going to put dylan's potty in the bathroom. we allow him to see us using the toilet so maybe he will then be encouraged to sit on it and basically get used to it.

He told me he was trying to poop the other night so maybe an indication that he understands things a bit more.

Mom of Dylan and Partner to Joerg. We live in the Beautiful Pringle Bay which is along the Whale coast, Cape.

our kids is all different and if they came with manuels we dont need the forum LOL

just a tip when i trained my eldest before i leave the house we go the toilet and everywhere we go it always first to the ladies before anything else. so there no accidents while shopping or drop shopping to find a loo. less stressfull when there in no emergency.
in the end of all the potty training you will know where every toilet is situated in each mall

CONGRATS Joli!! That is awesome :-)
They never cease to amaze us!!

Lwazi - what you can do is get a little potty and let him sit on it/ use it whenever he wants.

I basically have done this with my little guy. He is always with me when I go to the loo so the day I brought it home (he was about 18 months or something, I just bought it because it was cheap and cute, wasn't planning on using it)he kept wanting to go wee on it LOL. Through the months we just encouraged it and he went before bath time etc.

Since we've had a newborn in the house all he wanted was nappies until earlier this week. He asked me for his underpants because he is a big boy. We've had two days now in undies! I did put nappy on him to go grocery shopping today (seeing I had a pram and a trolley already I didn't picture trying to find a toilet in 60 seconds flat). AT the shops he told me he needs the toilet, I told him he must wait as it is far or he can wee wee in his nappy. He tells me "big boys don't wee in nappies"! He held his wee until we were out the shop and found the toilet. I was so impressed. He actually went to our paed appt (for my daughter) with undies on too and asked twice to use the toilet, no oopsies!!

So basically he has trained himself to a large degree - no forcing no nothing. Just encouragement and praise etc.

ETA: he does still sit and wee like mommy though - daddy is busy teaching him to use his hosepipe lol

THX all :)

Lwasi - I think your son is a bit young, but go with the flow like Wilma said.

When I struggled with Kayla like that and my sister told me her daughter was potty trained before the age of 2 I didn't believe her. But ya kids do keep to amaze us ne!

I'm sure we will still have some glipsies at night.

Maybe 2nd kids are easier to train than 1st kids.
