Baby Earrings

I also sit on the fence of those that are nto fan of it. In my culture and where I come from, its very common to pierce baby gir's ears when they get to 6 months. It did not sit well with me so K's ears are not pierced. I want her to decide for herself when she gets older and can take care of it.

My ears were pierced very early and for 3 years I battled with infections. I did not want to put K through that and also its difficult enough to deal with a baby so did not want the added stress of dealing with infections as well.

Just my opinion though

I wanted to take my daughter as soon as I could (6 months) but felt to sorry for her and ended upt taking her at 10 months. She cried a little bit and then it was over. I just kept it clean and she didn't get any infections or anything. She's 4 years old now and it still looks lovely.

My friend had her daughters ears done really young. 6 months I think. She says she wish she hadn't as her ears have grown a bit and the holes are now totally skew.

I am not sure there is a "right" time - and it really depends on you.

I am not a "piercing a baby girl's ears" fan - but that is my personal feeling, so could not really give advise.

My gut tells me that 20 weeks is a bit young, based only on the fact that if there is an infection and you are dealing with a little baby then things might be a problem.

Again, my total gut reaction, not based on extensive research.

My lg is 20weeks today. I want to take her for earrings, but not sure when to do it.
Any advise?
