No solids before 6 months - we started at 3.
No junk food - he loves a fling chippy now and then
No juice - yeah right - but I do dilute mine but most days its all he will get down, he hates water
No tv - ok this has become my saving grace if I need like 5 min to prep dinner or something
No sleeping in his own room - we actually wanted to co sleep, and on the first night home from birth I said bugger this! Not getting any sleep and so into his cot he went and thats where he happily stays.

And the list goess on and on

I am slowly breaking them all.

No tv. Over the weekend he now watches at least 2 films a day. One at 5 in the morning then one in the late afternoon.

No juice. He gets one glass per day now.

No junk food. Who doesn't eat flings anyway?

No co sleeping. He goes to sleep in his own room but we love it when he sneaks into our bed at 3 in the morning. For 5 minutes that is.

We all have ideas of how to perfectly parent our children. And then we have them.

Mom of Dylan and Partner to Joerg. We live in the Beautiful Pringle Bay which is along the Whale coast, Cape.

know the saying "we are perfect parents, until we have kids of our own!"

My broken rulles:
1. No Co-sleeping - well wen stuck with a crying baby @ 2am and nothing is calming her down Im allowed to sneak into bed with her :P

2. bed-time will be @ 18:00 - wen I get home @ 6pm after long day @ work, need to spend atleast an hour with my baby. otherwise feel so guilty about neglecting my LG.

Parenthood is hard!

Hi Girls. Would like to know which of your own rules you broke since becoming a mommy. I always used to say that my kids will always eat all their food and if they don't, well then they will get the leftovers for the next meal! Now that I'm a mommy, I couldn't care less if they don't want to eat and will even let them have yoghurt for supper if that's what they want!

I also said my kids will never get a dummy - and what did I do last night? I gave Callum a dummy! The free one that came with the Living and Loving mag because he wouldn't stop screaming! And he did fall asleep with it. So I feel terrible, but hey desperate times!

I also faintly remember something along the lines of my kids will never throw a tantrum in a shop and well if they do. I will give them a hiding...............
