I had a lump in my boob which was also so sore the one day from the same thing... little one only wanted bottle... and thats the only thing that helped...

Shame, that sounds awful! Antibiotics usually take about 24h to start working so hopefully you'll feel better soon!

Unfortunately, laser therapy only helps with sore nipples.

I am so sorry to hear you are in so much pain, I have heard that mastitis is really sore.

If I am not mistaken Physios can use laser to treat the breasts if very painful. I might be totally mistaken here, but I remember in hospital that they asked me if I needed this, (maybe it was for sore nipples? I am not sure).

Im in so much pain. I have mastitis and went to the doctor yesterday. She gave me painkillers and antibiotics. She said she suspects its turned already into a cyst as the lump just sits there and nothing i do seems to relieve the pressure. I have tried cabbages, hot, cold, massage, hot showers, electric express, hand pump and its still there. As the hours go by the pain gets worse and worse. The cyst isn't getting bigger as of yet. How long do the antibiotics take to work? When should i go back to the doctor for her to relieve the pressure. I haven't seen blood or puss yet, thank heavens, but i want the pressure to subside. Please can anyone help?! Baby doesn't want to suck on that breast so i have been pumping and that's how this whole story started. *cry*
