Colic is every mother's worst nightmare!

We took our lg to the chiropractor and it did work to some degree.
After trying telemant drops and gripewater, our clinic sister suggested Bennets Colic syrup. This was the one thing that saved our sanity!

Colic is so difficult to diagnose and to fix as it could be a number of problems.

if it is cramps related then using a (not too hot) bean bag or hot water bottle against LO's tummy and holding them close to you can help. Its also advisable to get a probiotic which helps to balance the intestines.

If LO is on formula maybe try change it to a non cramp formula like Novalac AC(?)

Then the occasional ponado can assist esp of pain related.

Also try give baby rescue drops.

If you stay in Cpt north then a pharmacy here makes their own mix which is very good.
Some people say chiro / baby massage etc works well too but I never had the need for it.

Lastly sometimes it can be an ailment that actually needs meds like a UTI or ear infection so if it continues then rather take LO to the paed to rule out illness.

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.

Hey Vuvs
I am probably a bit premature in replying but here goes anyway.
My girl just over 4 weeks has been feeding non stop. I went to a private midwife to get help. She recommended a chiropractor. We went yesterday and this is what he said! C sec babies have a higher chance of a mal aliginment of the neck (natural is lower back) and this causes discomfort in baba which makes them stressed and release adrenalin, this in turn messes with the digestive process and voila colic.
Apparently this starting 2 to3 weeks after birth is a big clue!
We had our first session yesterday morning we got a 2 and half hour nap in the afternoon and have just had 6 hours tonight. I can't believe it. He warned us that today would be niggly and from thurs she would be better.
We have a final check up with him on thursday. He was so gentle with her, you would never know he was working on her. I know it is early days and I hope it lasts. But my baby does seem so much happier and more relaxed.
Good luck finding your solution.

Just wanting to find out what has worked for other mommies. I have tried a number of things but none of them have worked so far.I am going loopy with sleep deprivation and 3hrs of crying everyday.

My LO is 5 1/2 weeks old and has been this way since 2 weeks.
