Hey,

The only thing that worked for my son was PRODOL from any pharmacy..

I would stay away from teething mixtures as you dont always know whats in them and they are known to KNOCK babies out so that they sleep, and my paed says they are usually a bit too strong for small babies.. although i also used it before i asked him and baby slept through..

Generally anti-inflammatory pain meds (e.g. Nurofen, Ponstan) work better for my LG when teething than paracetamol. If it's really bad and I struggle to break the fever I alternate Nurofen and Calpol (Panado) every four hours. Or Empaped suppositories at night cause they work quickly.

I must say we got a "Teething Mixture" from our local pharmacy which I was very reluctant to give (it contains Ponstan & Stopayne) but I gave it once out of desperation and it worked like a bomb!

I do 6ml ponstel during bath time and then vidol right before last bottle. Sp far so good. The paed said use stopayne if it's bad. Generally I only use vidol in the day.

At night a good pain killer like neurofen. My paed made me feel quite bad as I am anti meds unless they are needed and he said the teething is worse when they are lying down so a small dose helps.

I also used a gel like pansoral which worked well. I chose not to use the powders as they are medicated and then if your lo gets sick you have no idea how much paracetamol they have ingested with the powders.

I also used to cut up sticks of carrot and place it in the fridge and let Dylan chew on it. The cold numbs their gums.
