Hi MommyN

I have a few bandana bibs at home that I use with my son. He doesnt drool that much anymore so I use it as a bib when feeding. It's too cute, much nicer than a normal bib for a boy! My aunt bought one at Dischem and copied the pattern for me. The top is cotton print and the back is a nice fleece to keep baby dry. She made them for R20 each - which is an absolute bargain I think!

If you're interested I know she's continued to make and sell more - maybe you can get her to send you a photo and how much one or two will cost?

Let me know.

Hi MommyN, I used the Mum2Mum brand of bibs including the bandana ones and they work really really well. I know the ordinary bibs can hold up to a quarter cup of liquid before leaking onto the clothes (Bit of useless info for you) Not sure how much the bandana's hold though. The other type I used was the Rhuebarb & Custard bandana bibs which were the original bandana bib on the market in SA. They arn't very big and arn't waterproof in the back but are pretty darn cute with their patterns etc where the wonderbib is quite bulky and only comes in a few colours.

Hi MommyN,

I haven't used them myself, but a few friends of mine swear by the Mum2Mum wonder bibs. Not sure where are you based, in CPT Kids Emporium stocks them, but you can also order online.

My daughter never drooled much, but I saw at Dischem the other day that Bennett's has a dribble rash ointment. Also read that you can apply some vaseline on their chins to prevent the rash.

Has anyone used the Bandana bibs and how effective are they? Are they any good? Or do they just look good?

Nathan is drooling so much, Sarah never drooled and only used a feeding bib. I dont want ot use them for feeding, just for drooling.

Where can I find them and how much are they? A friend got some from the UK but I cant find in SA, except imported at a cost.

I found a pattern to make one, and I have a sample, but its a schlep and is it worth it?

Also, what is the best preventative and treatment for drool rash? Nathan gets it a bit and I have been using a tropical cream. Anything else? Obviously keeping his chin and face dry. His hands are permanently in his mouth - his hands are actually ice cold from all the chewing! He wont take a dummy and refuses the teething rings/chewy things. He doesnt even want my finger or hand today!
