*Pram-no one used it,ended up giving to those who needed it
*Electronic Sterelizer-just collected dust in my cupboard
*feeding chair-my nanny didn't see the necessity


Best buys:
*Car seat-my baby loved it too bits,even in the house she will sit on it and eventually fall asleep
*Dummy-put in around her neck 24\7 and she will be your best friend,she will even wake up in the middle of the night reach for it and suck on it till she falls asleep.
*Fissan Paste-worked wonders for nappy rash
*Microwave sterelizer-loved it to bits also used it as a bottle storer
*Avant bottle warmer-kept the milk hot 24\7
*Avant bottles-need say more,my baby loved their tits

I didnt know about baby-powder also, thanx cos we r going to the beach next week

Worst buy:
*newborn clothes that go through/over the head. I could never get those through without a struggle.
*Baby-swing - had to return ours cos like Yaz said, my LG also just could not sit still and enjoy it *sigh*
*2-piece clothes for newborns

Best buy:
*button-up baby-gros/clothes for newborns and 0-3months.
*bought most of newborn and 0-3months clothes in unisexual colours & design (babies look so cute in white), I can still use them for my next baby (boy or girl) as they are still in very good condition.
* breastpump (I have electric one, my sister has a manual one and we are both happy with what we've got)
*breastfeeding pillow. LG kicked me on my C-Sec wound , I never breastfed her without the pillow afterwards.
* Bepanthen cream: works wonders for nappy rash and cracked nipples.
*Body-suit Vests, hate it when baby's 2-piece clothes leave her back or tummy exposed.

I love these threads...It always amazes me how the one's favourite buy is another woman's worst! These things really depends on ones individual needs and are really not that universal unfortunately!

Thanks for the baby powder tip. Interesting, I started using baby powder on my LO when she was about a year old and love it now! I buy the woolies earth friendly one.

Another good buy for new borns- baby grows that button up the front and baby sense swaddle wrap

When I fell pregnant a friend of mine sent me a list of must's and must not's, can't remember all of them but off the top of my head I remember these:


ELECTRIC breast pump - she said the manual one was useless!
A bath seat with a little cushion instead of a baby bath - I know it's a specific brand can't rememer what though
Bottle warmer
A cot that converts to a junior bed
She also said a stroller instead of a travel system

@ Niki, baby powder is very useful:) If you go to the beach it helps to get sand off:)

Best: My cloth nappies, my sling, babygros,

Worst: Travel system, (wish I'd just bought a stroller),

Yaz, Paige is the same, I have the same rocker as Libra, was great until Paige got mobile now she hates it, but she can still use it as she gets bigger so hoping to still get a bit of use. I also loved my baby wrap, I used UBBA Baba, we used it many a time to get her to sleep or just give me some free hands to do a few things.

the angle care monitor is also a must in our house

My breast pump was a great buy, I am still using it now and will use it when we have another baby.
Also never used my pregnancy pillow while pregnant but used it lots when Paige arrived, for breastfeeding,and then when she starting sitting, standing etc

my favorite baby product- Elizabeth anne's special baby shampoo - love it

things I could should not have bought:

baby bath, she grew out of it so quickly it was a waste
breastfeeding pillow- I hardly used it
baby sense sling- used it once, hated
all the other baby products you never use such as baby powder etc
