Where to find new friends when you get pregnant?

Try to join a babygym class or moms and babes when baby arrives. There is a great moms & babes group at Norscot manor.

Also make friends at the clinic like Niki said. You can check out Mother instinct, they have moms and babies weekly meetings. www.motherinstinct.co.za

Your not the only one feeling like this! And if you don't do something about it, you might find motherhood a very lonely time.

I had a similar experience and I met a whole group of new friends through the clinic I took Paige to when she was a new born.

I went to Tina Otte's family center in Linden, you can take your new born there for the weekly clinic and you chat a meet a whole group of moms, she also does exercise classes for moms who have jsut had babies and the best part you take your baby with... this is a great place to meet like minded moms... I am still friends with moms i met there a year ago.

I'm pretty sure some women here will know what you're dealing with.

Meantime, why dont you join the due date group for Jan/Feb/March 2012 and then you can hopefully meet some from your area.
I've made many good friends on moomie over the years and can definitely vouch for the value fellow mom's add to your unique circumstances.

My name is Annie, I am 34. I live in Johannesburg, in Kyalami/ Fourways area. I am giving birth to a baby girl on about 1st January 2012. Throughout my pregnancy I found that my single/ without children friends grew distant from me. I read online forum discussions on the matter and found that it's very common. Apparently, single friends somehow feel we have not much in common any more. I probably was like them before and always avoided women with babies myself, now the roles are changed, and it's not fun for me! Anyway, 8 months pregnant down the line, I am looking for friendships with pregnant women or women with newborns. Where do I find them? I never went to prenatal classes and studied everything from books. I am a housewife and only go to gym and shopping. Any suggestions?
