Yes, the Roadster can be used rear-facing up to 13kg (like all rear-facing car seats). It comes with a special base that holds it at the correct angle for rear-facing. I tried it in my car and it seemed very secure in the rear-facing position. But the sales assistant didn't really seem to know what he was doing so i still need to shop around and find someone that knows the product properly.
I like the Graco Nautilus, but its a bit pricey. I am very concerned about SA safety standards when it comes to car seats and that is why I lean towards Graco as they adhere to the best standards in the world. I see that Bambino is a branch of Graco, but is not sold internationally. I've emailed them to ask about the safety standards, I'll let you know what they say.
I assume it can be installed rear facing as its "from birth" and I like to keep my kids rear facing for as long as possible. And then the Nautilus costs around R3000 where it seems the Roadster is available for around R1600. The Nautilus has a cup holder and a side pocket that can hold small toys, but my question would be, is having cup holder worth R1400??? So if the safety standards are the same, I would go for the cheaper option, but if not, I'll have to save for few more months...

I'd also like to know, also interested in the Roadster. My baby is now 3.5months, and not sitting very comfortable in his snug&safe. It seems like a very nice carseat!
Has anybody got/tried the Bambino Roadster carseat?
What do you think of it?
Logan is only 4.5 months old and still fits in the carseat that came with the travel system, but he doesn't really seem to like it and so often cries/screams while we're driving. So i'm wanting to invest in a "proper" carseat to see if that might be more comfy. He still needs to be rear-facing for a while, so I want one that can be used from birth - 3 years minimum.
The Roadster looks really nice and even converts to a booster seat later on so if we buy that it'll last him a really long time and we won't need to buy another one later on.
Just wondering if it's actually comfy and any opinions/experience anyone might have about it.
