Joybaby,

Willem had his 18 month jabs on Saterday.

He had the goverment one (not sure what all was in it)
And then he had the HepA one private - that cost abbout R200

He had the MMR and chickenpox ones at 15 months.

Location: Johannesburg
Willem born: 20 Aug 2010
Emily born: 5 March 2014

Hi hun, I think L got a 5-in-1 booster at 18 months, but then we were already in Germany so I'm not sure what the SA schedule says. Her paed over here said the 5-in-1 booster is important at that age. They also have other vaccines on the schedule here such as a shot against meningococcal disease, but no Hep A. She had two MMRV (MMR + chicken pox) jabs in a period of 8 weeks (I think), but I agree that you shouldn't probably have K that one atm cause in some cases they may develop symptoms. If I'm not mistaken the MMR can only be given in a certain window period to be effective though?

If she had the MMR at 15 months, then I think she just needs HepA at 18 months??

Hi moms

I missed Kaylee's 18month vaccinations because it was when she had her heart operation.
So now I need to take her (while she is still healthy!) but cant seem to find a clear indication of what the private 18month vaccination entails.
Can anyone please help me? Cos it differs between government and private. She did go for something at 15 months but I cant recall what.
And how much did you pay?

Also, with me being pregnant, I read that its not advisable to give them a live vaccine (eg chicken pox or measels) while I'm pregnant (esp 1st trimester) since I could contract the virus from her.
Has anyone got input on this?

I have mailed the clinic sister as well for clarity but I could be stressing for nothing if she's not due to have this vaccine now?
I just have to be cautious because of Kaylee's heart history which is congenital.

First angel resting 25/06/2009 stayed with us a short 7 weeks but we still miss you.
