Hi ladies, l just had twins last month and am using a doek to tie my stomach and it works wonders.

If you can't get hold of a doek try buying a piece of material like shweshwe two or three meters and folding it thick and tie around the belly when at home that too works wonders and its not at all expensive .

Oh gosh ladies and here I am thinking wow wow wow let me get my martenity UIF pay so I can buy the cherished belly..... I tried buying it, went to the shops listed on their website but the salespeople there didn't even know what I'm talking about.... So I opted for the Carriwell.....DISASTER... They tried too hard to work on the comfort part it just does nothing. And yep after first wash it doesn't bind properly... I've even now stitched it up to shrink it just so it can actually be tight but no....not working...waste of R350 for me...

Belly Bandit I don't know about it, but I do know it's expensive, but that's probably just cos Kim Kardashian is the "designer"

Anyone using tummy tucker by zuraida? I'm considering it, but eish it's more expensive than the cherished belly but not as much as the belly bandit.

And my mom used to stitch up belts for my sisters, using this thick fabric like the one that covers couches...magical, no stretching, no curving to your shape, nice and tight...but well she's over 600km away

Hi,

I also bought the cherished belly belt. Silly me, I bought 2!!! I had a csection and used it once I was comfortable. I also used it for 24 hours but mine kept rolling up and didn't fit my belly properly. So I stopped using it. So for me it was R800 gone :-(

You should contact them just to let them know what happened when you washed it.

I bought the playtex tight panties and they seem to work and I am 12 weeks post delivery. At least I can wear some of my prepreg clothes with the panties on. And they are comfy.

I used the cherished belly, paid a lot of money for it and only used it for a few weeks! It felt really great at the beginning, and I wore it for 24 hours, only taking it off when I showered. Then when I washed it (by hand, and then laid it down to dry) the belt seemed to come apart. The binding inside came loose from the outside fabric, so it would shrimp when I wore it, and the velcro didn't seem as sticky anymore. I eventually tried fastening it with safety pins, but that was a real hassle and seemed to defeat the purpose of buying the belt in the first place!

I'm a FTM, so I have no experience, but I've heard of these two SA brands of belly binders: www.cherishedbelly.co.za and www.thebellybandit.co.za Hope that helps!
