UIF on maternity leave

Hi ladies,

I have my own UIF Agency in Cape Town. Please be very careful of U-filing. I had a client contact me in December to take over her U-filing claim as she was getting nowhere. She submitted in July 2014 and only got approval last week!

If you do the submission yourself - you have to go to the offices approximately 5 times, once for submission, and then each month a payment is due you have to submit an original form for them to pay the money into your bank account.

There are several agencies out there that will do the claim on your behalf, make sure your forms are 100% correct on submission and do all the legwork and dealing with issues on your behalf for a small fee.

Sweet Dreamz are the Mediclinic endorsed agency, so if you are registered with Mediclinic Baby you do qualify for a reduced rate.

Our payroll manager here at my company told me I can fill in a form to have the UIF claim paid directly into my bank account.
I would only have to queue once when I take the forms to the Labour Office.

I drew UIF about three years ago. q's are not that long when you go early, I went to the offices in Randburg. Other alternative, you can get someone to do it for you, they do charge a small fee though.

I'm trying to work out our budget for when baby arrives in 6 weeks time, and I would like to know who you made use of to claim UIF for you?

I'm so afraid of being scammed, but also don't think i'm going to have the energy for a 3 hour queue every month.

Please let me know what you did?
