at least its not constant fussiness. we had good days in between, but nights was hectic.
he is now cutting molars, and boy o boy what a struggle. way worse than those first 8 toothies

hopefully yours will not take so long to cut through. and hoping its a bit easier

i asked at the butcher to cut me 2 pieces of biltong 1cm thick and just longer as baba's hand, so he has a nice grip and its easy to chew and big enough that he cant swallow it. so it was usually diagonally cut to get a long enough piece.
only got 2 pieces at a time.
butcher never minded to do it like that - even if i did not take the whole piece of biltong

Thanx StellaK,

OMW 6 - 8 weeks of non-stop fussiness times 10

I've heard about the biltong. Did you just buy a big piece of biltong?

teething is so very different for each baby.

i did not used the beads as for me its a big choking hazzard.

my little guy had a very tough time with teething and it was a 6-8 week battle for every pair of teeth - he got them 2 at a time.

what worked best for us was biltong - they can really get into chewing it and the salt also helps.
Prodol is great and at nights i also gave ponstan when he struggled.

hoping you are lucky and those toothies pop soon

Thanks Amyreally,

I am also a bit scared of the beads (he is just to nosy to leave anything alone).

Gosh I really hope it doesn't take that long every time I don't think my nerves will hold :S

Hi Joanne

My son has one tooth, and is currently busy cutting 2 more simultaneously. Needless to say, he's a bit fussy as well!

I didn't try the beads because I just know hes the type to try and rip it off. I do have prodol, which seems to help. Also if it's really bad, I give him some pain meds (panado ot ponstan). Teething biscuits also seem to help but I don't give it that often.

The time it took from first feeling the tooth, until it was "completely" out was about a month (its still kinda tiny so I'm not sure if it's done yet). It seems extra long to me, so maybe this isn't the norm

Goodluck :)

Hi Maries,

Baby is 6 months. The itchy gums and drooling started at 4 months.

You can actually see the white tooth so it shouldn't be long now.

Hi

I use the amber teething beads. They really help with drooling and pain. You can fine them on www.lovebug.co.za

How old is baby? My babies started at 6 months. Can't remember how long it took but they to had itchy gums like a month before the actual tooth was out.
