Thanx Julz - Think I will wait for Genesis Cape Town to open before I ttc again. I can understand they want a live baby but for goodness sake we are there in hospital constantly being monitored if there is any sign of distress there are theaters on standby for "real" emergency c-sec.

Hallo, I am from Muizenberg and my son as born at cape town medi clinicon the 12th Jan.

Aslo had c section causde baby was way to big and he would have damaged an old op...still feel sad that I didn't get to do the natural birth, but as it turned out was a blessing that I consented to c sec as cord was knotted around my little angel's neck.

but that is horrible being bullied...I would suggest you change Gynae's...mine is very pro natural, so when he said we have to do a csec, I knew he had a very good reason and my son weighed 3.59 at birth!

Rags so sorry you were bullied. Not many moms would insist on going on with a natural birth if told baby was in trouble and I get really upset when gynaes push when there isn't trouble but I guess they also prefer a live baby. Good luck with the vbac next time round.

Nadia - At my 2nd last app. my gynae started talking about a c-sec knowing the plan was natural all along,(you know the your not the biggest of people & the whole small shoe size story & its gonna be a big child. Which then at my last app. (Thursday) caused me to be anxious and my BP went up but borderline,he then insisted that if on the Sunday there was no baby,he would be inducing me on Monday which was my EDD.

I didnt want to be induced and he put me on this whole guilt trip about how he speaks for the "quality" of the baby so I gave in and he wouldnt allow me to have the induction without the epidural. When it got to 3 in the afternoon on the Monday he said we would have to do the c-sec as it was taking to long but neither myself or the baby was in distress.

I was never opposed to having a c-sec, whatever was best for my baby but in my case I dont feel that it was necessary. Better luck next time,will try for a VBAC.
