My son is a fussy eater as well, so i run after him and he enjoys it untill we finish eating, this happens on a daily basis, i don't mind doing it as long as he eats then i am happy.

My son isnt easy at neck times as he wants to be independant. but takes too long to eat then leaves it. so what we do is one of 2 options. 1 we give him a spoon and also have one, then he plays and feeds himself but also allows us to feed him too. or 2 we feed him in the bath, it works plus no need to worry about clean up!

My 3 yr old is a fussy eater (or not a big eater) and has been this way for about 18 months. Up to 18 months he ate what I gave him, when I gave it to him but then eating just became a downward battle. Everyday I dread having to give him his meals cause usually he just won't eat. He lives on oats, yogurt, cheese and salticrax and pasta. I know that sounds relatively healthy but I am so concerned he is not getting enough fresh fruit and veg. He eats grapes (when they are in season). He will occassionally eat banana or an apple. Oh and I still give him a big formula bottle in the morning when he wakes. Only because he does not eat well some days so it makes me feel a little better if I know at least he has had some formula.

Feeding toddlers can be tricky. But I just offer him the food at mealtimes and if he pointblank refuses then I leave him and offer him something later. It is hard cause sometimes he hardly eats anything the whole day but I assume he won't starve himself.

I have learnt a trick lately that works well for me. I have re-introduced the feeding chair. My 3 yr old often insists I take my 7 month old baby out so he can sit in there and once in, he will generally sit still for long enough to eat some food. No distractions and he can't run away when he sits in the chair.

Oh I have also found that if I feed him myself that he eats more. I think it takes so long for him to feed himself that he looses interest and then won't eat anymore. So anything I can feed him I do. He still eats finger foods himself though.

If anyone has tips let me know.

Is he a fussy eater, or does he just get bored having to sit still ? It could also have become a game to him, at eating time he can get mommy to run after him, try not to run after him, shrug and say "maybe later then" as soon as it stops being game, it stops being fun.

Have you tried letting him feed himself ? This often keeps them occupied, or if you are feeding him, give him a toy or two to play with while he eats.

Brandon hates hot food, so if too hot he refuses to eat, while Liam is not fond of cold food, so if he takes too long to eat and it gets cold, he will not eat anymore.

I also found that by changing their cutlery from plastic to stainless steel got them to eat better
