Help - LO HATES driving!!!

My baby also didnt like driving in the car, untill we got the bigger car seat when she was a bit older, now she loves it!
I think the baby car seats are sometimes very uncomfortable, try to pad it up with some blankies?

I think with babies you need to be patient and try to find ways to pacify them.

I was nervous in the morning when it was time to leave the house and think the tense feeling made it worse.

So now if someone has told me to relax just pacify or ignore my mornings would have been a breeze.

We think most kids love cars, but they don't always. Dylan screamed for 3 whole months. Even on longer trips. It was very stressful for us, but there wasn't much we could do. Even as you say sitting in the back made it seem worse. We had to just ignore him. My gran even said I was cold hearted for not taking him out!!!!! You get used to it and I tended to go out when I needed to and didn't go too far, He screamed all the way to Vredenberg one. The whole way!!!!!

One thing that helped was a toy that made a swishing noise. Not sure where our friend got it from, but that helped so if you haven't try a toy. We would just turn the radio up to drown out the screaming.

Other than that there was nothing else that worked. You eventually get used to it and I am pleased to say that Dylan is great in the car now. He goes to sleep straight away.

My son was the same in the beginning but like some of the other ladies have said..they do get used to it... try and get a car seat toy (or mobile)... I had one that you strapped to the seat with a mirror and little fish that he used to stare at...

I also struggled with Tay as she did the same thing, The minute I fasten her she cried, so I made it a point to get her in the seat everyday, and let DH drive and I will sit next to her with one of her toys and sing to her. Now , she is like a changed person, the minute I strap her in and the car starts moving she babbles with no end. Hang in there, she will eventually get used to it.

Yas had the same problem for a few weeks when i had to take the older ones to school. Every morning there was crying.

But the time when we leave was still his sleeping time (and the routine was out).

What i have done is to change the nappy with the last night/morning feed (4:30 am ) just wrap him in a blanket and go. I dont change the nappy feed or fuss with him. He will sleep in the car ,radio is off.

the crying was for 2 weeks , now (4mnths later) he leaves with the older ones in the morning for daycare there is no crying.

I just think they small and like when the routine/sleeping patterns change.
