file Thumbs up/Thumbs down buttons?

I would have liked to know why I have two karma likes, I saw my karma rating recently and was wondering which of my many comments were the awesome ones. lol
I wouldn't really encourage the like buttn to become too popular, I prefer someone say why they liked it. It's fine on fb, because for the most part people post things like: 'Halloooo Cape town you beauty'
Where as a 'thank you' is more specific to a post as moomie posts tend to be quite loaded. If that makes sense?
Although it honestly doesn't matter much to me really. I like that i can see who's online on what thread etc. Thats pretty cool btw! Also a fabulous feature is that you can see how long people have been around eg fresh, gold, platinum etc.
I really do love the layout of this site!

I'm also in favour of removing it.

While I agree that a "Thank You" button is an appropriate response to give to good advice, I think that a "Like" button is just as appropriate and more all encompassing e.g. If I like a photo I'm not going to click on a Thank you.

You can't by any chance change Thank You to Like or is that a standard button that comes with Joomla?

No biggy - I was just curious.

Yes, I would be in favour to remove it.

I like the thank you button though...but if it becomes the same as the Karma button, then I am not in favour of it. (Applauding a person and not good advice given in a users opinion).

I asked when we published the karma if we should keep it. We tried it out for a while. Can we assume we must rather remove it?

As I said earlier it is the content that should be rated and not the indiviudal so I agree. I personally don't think there is a problem per se with the "like" being linked to a profile. It works very well on FB. I do think there is a problem when a "dislike/thumbs down" is linked to a profile - that can lead to trouble. Rather leave it out on a peaceful forum like Moomie. Also FB. It's fine on a news site like News24 where only pseudonyms are used and not personal profiles.

Juno, Yes, a "like button" is cool, but then it shouldn't be linked to a users profile but rather to a specific post that was helpfull. (in my opinion).
